Nancy Powell is married, the mother of two children, and seven grandchildren. She is a member of the Church of Christ, a member of River Valley Writers of Fort Smith, Oklahoma Writers’ Federation, Inc., and Roundtable Poets. Nancy graduated from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. She retired from the City of Fort Smith with 29 years of service as Traffic Coordinator. Her job involved working with city, county, state, and federal representatives to implement traffic control devices. She also worked with utility companies, engineers, the police department, city directors, and citizens.
